Embracing Your Inner Seasons: A Journey Through the Menstrual Cycle
with Dr. Emily Bessemer
Friday 8/22 6pm
This transformative course reframes the menstrual cycle as a monthly journey through four distinct seasons, each with its own energy, gifts, and wisdom.
Drawing from the groundbreaking work of Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer in "Wild Power" and Maisie Hill's "Period Power," students will learn to recognize and harness the natural rhythms of their inner landscape.
We'll explore each phase as a unique season:
menstruation as Winter (a time for rest, reflection, and inner knowing)
the follicular phase as Spring (renewal, creativity, and fresh beginnings)
ovulation as Summer (confidence, connection, and peak energy)
luteal phase as Autumn (harvesting insights, setting boundaries, and preparation).
Students will discover how to track their personal patterns, recognizing how their energy, creativity, productivity, and emotional needs shift predictably throughout each cycle. We'll examine how to optimize work, relationships, and self-care practices by aligning with these natural rhythms rather than fighting against them. The course covers practical applications including cycle-synced scheduling, nutrition for each phase, and communication strategies that honor your seasonal needs. We'll also address how hormonal contraception affects these natural rhythms and explore alternatives for those seeking to reconnect with their cyclical nature.
Through journaling exercises, group discussions, and personal cycle mapping, participants will develop a deep appreciation for their menstrual cycle as a source of power, creativity, and wisdom rather than an inconvenience to be managed.
Perfect for anyone seeking to transform their relationship with their cycle and unlock their cyclical superpowers.
