This 4-week, trauma-informed series will focus on gentle breath-synced movement sequences with ample opportunity to discover multiple variations of what is offered. 

As with other trauma-informed offerings, you can expect:

  • No hands-on assists (unless specifically requested) in class

  • A playlist without lyrics

  • Natural light, no incense or candles and an abundance of props

This offering is right for you if:

  • You are new to, or just returning to, a physical yoga practice

  • You are seeking to devote time to practices curated to foster a sense of calm connection

  • You have the desire to grow or deepen your physical and therefore, spiritual yoga practice

  • You would like the opportunity to practice in a class community that values the trauma-informed principles of safety, trust, collaboration, choice, empowerment and cultural consideration

Must be at minimum 10 weeks post-partum to participate with clearance from medical doctor. This is a group exercise class, if concerned about pelvic floor and core strength for movement - and specifics for you and your body - please schedule a one-on-one session with Dr. Emily for a full pelvic floor assessment.

Meet Your Instructor:

Katie Morgan is a certified teacher, RYT500 trauma-informed yoga instructor, bereavement group facilitator and student clinical intern (clinical mental health). She is the founder of The Grief Ritual, where she supports those in a season of grief. Additionally, Katie has recently launched Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher; the work here is devoted to training current and future yoga teachers in trauma-informed practices and providing trauma-informed training to individuals and organizations.
