This unique 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training offers an unprecedented collaborative approach combining the expertise of six distinguished professionals: a physical therapist, advanced yogini, midwife, mindfulness and children's yoga specialist, sound healer, and trauma-informed social worker. Meet Your Instructor:
Emily Bessemer PT, DPT, PRPC, 200ERYT, RPYT
Dr. Emily Bessemer is the owner of EmBodied Physical Therapy and a pelvic floor physical therapist with over a decade of hands on work in the pelvic bowl, energy field and movement medicine for alignment, mobility and restoration of the magic with in the body. She’s treated hundreds of women at EmBodied Physical Therapy to connect with their womb space energy, movement practices, and alignment physically + energetically to move from their most embodied space. She is a certified reiki master teacher, prenatal yoga teacher, pilates instructor and Arvigo Abdominal massage practitioner.
Rebecca F. White is a certified yoga instructor with 500+ hours of training and education. She has been teaching yoga and meditation for over 14 years in the Jersey Shore community. Her classes focus on the connection between the body, mind, and breath to teach students how to move with awareness to develop a dynamic and safe practice. Rebecca is also a mother and wife dedicated to holistic and mindful living. Both of her children were born at home, and her and her husband, Tyler, homeschool with an emphasis on nature-based learning and play.
Shannon Hawley is a Singer-Songwriter, Sound Therapist (Soundology) , Breathwork Facilitator, Kundalini Yoga Teacher (YTT 200) and a trained trauma-conscious clinical social worker, MSW (NYU) who uses breathwork, sound therapy, as well as her training in psychotherapy in her healing sessions. Her approach to healing is to empower her clients to listen deeply, cultivate self-acceptance and self-love and to build nervous system resilience in order to bring their whole beautiful authentic selves into community.
Karen Carola: Karen Carola, BSN, MSN, CNM, RYT-500 hr is a Certified Nurse Midwife with over 35 years of experience. She graduated from Columbia University with a Masters of Science in Midwifery in 1986 and has since helped more than 3,r00 women birth their babies. Karen is the Director of Midwifery for Ocean Gynecological and Obstetrical Association at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. With the recent increase in cesarean section rate, Karen sought more positive methods to help her patients. She became certified to teach yoga to give women the support they need to fully embrace the power of pregnancy and birth.Karen holds a 200-hour yoga instructor certification with Laurie Greene at Yoganine, a 500 -hour yoga instructor certification with Yogaworks, a prenatal certification with Jacqui Reynolds at Kripalu Center for Health and Healing, and a prenatal immersion with Sue Elkind at Dig Yoga. Karen's classes emphasize the importance of good alignment, building strength, focusing on breath work and tuning in to your intuition. An avid runner, Karen has completed 20 marathons. She enjoys exercise, yoga, and studying nutrition.
Kat Benny is a certified early childhood elementary teacher, E-RYT 200, RCYT, and Qualified Teacher of MBSR, dedicated to supporting the well-being of people of all ages through yoga and mindfulness practices. Her own experience navigating health challenges, grief, and body image have made her a firm believer in the transformative power of these practices and their ability to help turn suffering into strength and resilience. With a focus on nervous system regulation, honoring the needs of the individual, and not taking life too seriously, her classes are built on a foundation of slowness, spaciousness, and playfulness.
Melissa Delizia, who is a Reiki Master (trained by Dr. Emily), a Social Worker, with focuses in clinical practice and human rights, a Death Doula with a specialization in grief, a College Professor, Mama of Rowan and Professional Mental Health Coach.
