Day of the Dead

Altar Set Up and Celebration

with Dr. Emily + Dr. Melissa

Saturday November 1: 6:30pm

Join us for a celebration of the turn of the witches new year. On the night, we honor death and rebirth and the coming together of both. We will hold a sacred circle focused on our ancestors, guides, goddesses, and coming together in community to celebrate what’s next.

We’ll spend some time building a community altar together, talking about ways to build alters in our own spaces, and celebrate life and death and rebirth.

We’ll begin our practices with a brief somatic breath practice and gentle somatic movements with Dr. Emily. We’ll have some time dedicated to writing, sharing, and honoring our ancestors. With an optional writing activity prompted by Dr. Melissa to create a eulogy for any source of loss (person, past or future version of yourself, relationship, object, etc.) To foster connection with other realms, Dr. Emily will be playing bowls and sound instruments while we write.

Feel free to bring any witchy materials that feel close to you to put into the community altar, you can take them back home with you when the night is over.

Bring writing materials if you’d like, photos or mementos from past loved ones, and anything else that feels.

Here’s What to Expect:

  • Altar Set Up Honoring Loved Ones for Day of the Dead.

  • Connection and Community around sharing space with the seasonal turn of the wheel.

  • Optional somatic breath work and meditation practices to connect with our bodies before writing.

  • Dedicated writing time with optional prompts for writing activity to create a eulogy.

  • Sound healing instruments played to be able to connect with other realms.

Space is extremely limited to allow time for sharing and connection, please register in advanced if planning to attend.
